Growth starts with belief
If there is an elephant in the room, it makes a mark by its mere presence. The presence proven by years of leadership and growth. Its gracefulness accentuated by typical shunning of limelight. A short presence on the stage – but that is all it took to make the impact needed. One would wonder how silence and shyness can be a great trait of leadership. But that is what Satish Kumar is all about. Leadership is about firm belief – and acting on it. Growth merely is a by-product. As Satish spend those two minutes on stage, the message to the audience was clear. Why only double? Can we grow more? The answer is as, mentioned a by-product. First believe. When most leaders, especially delivery heads would play safe, projecting a future beyond the entrepreneur’s dream, cannot be without that firm belief. The belief essentially rubs on, and the team gets back to work. Now, on the team – within very short time made the new website ready for launch. Belief, combined with the ‘positive attitude’ is what keeps stuff going. Nothing else counts. I have worked with larger organizations and organizations of the same size, but here the atmosphere is different. The team is the epitome of that work culture. Satish’s belief is strong fuel to the team and the rest of the organization about its growth; and that belief has pulverize most road blocks. In one of our tea conversations, Satish was mentioning ‘ in my long years of experience, I have personally got a platform now to let my ideas be tested, without fear’. That atmosphere is established when the leadership starts with the belief and carries on with the positive attitude that Syed had talked about. Viswa, during his speech, recapped this simply – I am impressed by the way the team is speaking from its heart. I would replicate it my other organizations.
